Technical Publications Phone App

This project is a result of end-user feedback from customers trying to order technical publications. Customers found it difficult to navigate the existing website to check current revisions status or order new revisions of aircraft manuals for their aircraft.

The pre-existing website was chunky and caused the user to scroll endlessly to find their manufacturer, then once there, the ordering process itself was not intuitive.

My re-design simplified the entire process and provides a more intuitive user flow through the process.

I began the re-design by researching best business practices for our competitors and compiled customer feedback for the past five years to help identify customer pain points.

This led me to select a few customers who had contacted the company repeatedly with questions resulting in recorded sessions with the users navigating the current website for note-taking purposes, allowing me to compile customer journey maps for management buyoff.

The rest of the project consisted of fleshing out screen states by hand until I reached the point where I could assemble a low-fidelity prototype to present to management for buy-off prior to building the wireframe and assembling the rest of the hand-off documentation for the IT application developers.
